Stone Lithography is a very traditional form of printing;
think of Tolouse Lautrec's Moulin Rouge posters.
The process entails drawing on thick limestone slabs with grease
crayons or any grease based media (the oils of your skin will actually leave a mark). There is a different stone drawing
produced for each color. As with all processed-based work there are many variables that tend to be exploited by artists to
develop their personal styles... my favorite is drawing through a greased surface with acid to 'etch' the desired image.
